Have you ever thought of making your own favicon.ico for your website but didn’t know how to? Installing new applications like IconWorkshop™ can be a real pain and not always so easy. Luckily if you are a Photoshop user there is a simple file extension which allows you to open up .ico files in Photoshop and save them as well! This tool is really great and it’s what I used to make my own favicon.ico.
Installation is really quick and simple, all you have to do is download the zip file or dmg file, depending if your on a mac or pc, and then extract the files inside the archive into the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\File Formats
That’s it! Restart Photoshop and you should be on your way to creating icons!
